The St. Cloud Apollo at Brainerd boys basketball game Tuesday night was touted as a battle for first place in the Central Lakes Conference.
Well, Brainerd won 67-28 and it wasn’t much of a battle. Who could have hyped such a game? Well, that would be little ol’ me in Tuesday’s area notebook.
Oh well.
Apollo shot 20 percent from the field and after about midway through the first half, really was out of it. Brett Maslonkowski scored 15 points. He now needs seven to reach 1,000 career points.
Brainerd, meanwhile, is off to its best start since the 1965-66 season, according to the Brainerd Daily Dispatch.
