It’s over and it’s a fourth straight loss for the Johnnies – something that hasn’t happened in a single season at the school since 1930.
Augsburg piled up a season-high 587 yards of total offense, the most for an Augsburg team since 2004.
It marked the first time the Auggies (3-1 MIAC, 4-1 overall) have beaten the Johnnies in back-to-back seasons since a three-game winning streak from 1927-29. It was just Augsburg’s ninth victory in the series and by far their most lopsided win over St. John’s ever.
Quarterback Ayrton Scott finished with 143 yards rushing and threw for 259 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Jerise Washington rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
The Johnnies (0-4 MIAC, 2-4 overall) will try to snap their four-game losing streak when they play host to Carleton next Saturday at Clemens Stadium.
