Bruns out for Carleton game

St. John’s senior quarterback Connor Bruns will not play in Saturday’s MIAC matchup against Carleton in Northfield.

He has not practiced all week due to an injured foot.

Head coach Gary Fasching said after practice Friday that Nick Martin — who began the year as the starter before suffering an injury in the opening game — would step back under center.

Bruns is 97 of 170 passing this season for 1,088 yards and seven touchdowns with four interceptions.

Fasching said the hope is to get Bruns back when the team returns from its bye week to take on Gustavus on Nov. 2 in St. Peter.
