O’Grady won the 184-pound national title and finished the season with a 40-1 record. He had a 108-28 career record with the Huskies and was a four-time All-American.
SCSU head coach Steve Costanzo was named the NSIC’s coach of the year. He has guided the Huskies to three straight second-place finishes at the Division II National Championships. Costanzo has a 100-23 dual record with the Huskies. The team has won 47 straight duals.
The Huskies had eight wrestlers named to the All-NSIC teams.
SCSU’s Eric Forde (125), Andy Pokorny (133), Jacob Dalton Horn (149), Clint Poster (157), O’Grady (184) and heavyweight Jake Kahnke were all named to the All-NSIC first team.
Matt Nelson (141) and Gabe Fogarty (165) were both named to the second team.
