Hello everybody from high atop Sexton Arena at St. John’s on a frigid late November evening in Central Minnesota.
The St. John’s basketball team (1-2) is looking to get on track after a tough loss last Thursday at Minnesota-Morris when the Johnnies play host to Wisconsin-River Falls (1-2).
The Johnnies – as I wrote about in my column in Tuesday’s newspaper – have been hit hard by injuries, most notably to senior wing Seth Marx and sophomore wing Mitchell Kuck, the team’s top two scorers from a year ago. Both are out until at least after Christmas.
Wisconsin-River Falls won 20 games in both 2010-11 and 2011-12. But last season was a struggle for the Falcons and they are coming off a loss to St. Thomas last Saturday.
Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa graduate Connor Goodwin starts at center.
I’ll have live updates on Twitter at @rajko1973, and updates here at halftime.
