Hirsch named Rox MVP

Nebraska left-handed pitcher Zach Hirsch was named the St. Cloud Rox MVP before Friday night’s game against Waterloo at Joe Faber Field.

Hirsch has gone 5-2 this summer with a 3.71 ERA in 11 appearances, 10 of which have been starts. He’s thrown 63 innings and has 36 strikeouts with only six walks.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Hirsch has pitched his best in the second half of the season. Beginning on July 4, he had four straight starts where he threw seven innings or more.

Hirsch is a native of St. Charles, Illinois, and will be entering his junior season with the Cornhuskers.
