Lines, updated statistics going into Saturday’s game between SCSU and Colorado College

NO. 7/8 ST. CLOUD STATE (15-7-1 WCHA, 18-12-1 OVERALL)

The Huskies dropped to No. 11 in the PairWise Rankings after Friday’s loss to Colorado College.

Not surprisingly, there are a number of lineup changes for the Huskies. To me, the most notable is that the top two lines have switched personnel. Kalle Kossila moves from right wing on the top line to left wing and Jonny Brodzinski moves up to the top line at right wing with Drew LeBlanc at center. Ben Hanowski moves onto the second line with Nic Dowd at center and Jimmy Murray moves from left wing to right wing on the second line.

On the third line, Nick Oliver (lower body injury) returns to the lineup and is on left wing with Cory Thorson at center and Brooks Bertsch on right wing. Joey Benik moves from left wing on the third line to left wing on the fourth line with center Joe Rehkamp and right wing Joey Holka.

On defense, the top two pairings remain the same. As was the case earlier this season, Taylor Johnson replaces Jarrod Rabey as the defensive partner with Ethan Prow.

I say that it’s not surprising because coach Bob Motzko, after last night’s loss, noted that the top line of Hanowski-LeBlanc-Kossila was on the ice for two of the Tigers’ three goals in the third period and he was not happy with that.

COLORADO COLLEGE (9-10-4 WCHA, 12-14-5 OVERALL)

The Tigers moved into a tie for No. 29 in the PairWise Rankings after Friday’s win.

There’s just a couple tweaks to the Tigers’ lineup. Freshman Cody Bradley, who was the center on the third line Friday, is a scratch. He’s replaced in the lineup by sophomore Jordan DiGiando. DiGiando will center the fourth line and Jeff Collett, who was the center on the fourth line Friday, is the third line center tonight.

About Mick Hatten

I cover St. Cloud State hockey and I am a general assignment reporter for the sports department at the Times. 2012-13 was my third season covering the Huskies hockey programs. My wife Kristin and I have two boys (Luke, 5, and Josh, 3) and we live in St. Cloud. I have had two stints working at the Times. I worked here from 1986-91 as a part-time sports reporter and intern. I have been back since Aug. 1999. I spent one year as the prep sports coordinator, six years as the St. Cloud State reporter (football, men's and women's basketball and everything else but hockey) and spent four years as the Citizen Times editor. The last two years, I was also the editor of the Rocori Times and Sauk Rapids-Rice Times sections, which are mailed directly to people in those two school districts. Follow me on Twitter at https://twitter.com/MickHatten or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sctimesmick. I do online chats about college hockey during the season from 1-2 p.m. Thursdays at www.sctimes.com.
