Moro named NSIC defensive player of week

St. Cloud State junior cornerback Jack Moro was named the NSIC defensive player of the week on Monday.

Moro had three interceptions in the Huskies’ 55-13 win over the University of Mary on Saturday. It was his second three-interception game of the season. Moro has seven on the season.

It was the second time Moro has received the defensive player of the week honors this season. Moro’s other three-interception game came against Wayne State on Sept. 22, which is when he also received the conference honor.

Moro is two picks shy of tying the SCSU single-season record of nine that is held by Bill Trewick (1970). Moro has 31 tackles, five pass break-ups, two tackles for a loss and one blocked kick this year.

Here’s the new AFCA D-II Football Poll. St. Cloud State received one vote this week, which was down from three last week. Four straight wins and the Huskies get fewer votes? The polls are weird as usual.

UMD is No. 7, Mankato is No. 9 and Sioux Falls is back in at No. 23. Here it is:
