Poganski will be back for Hermantown game

Austin Poganski, a junior on the St. Cloud Cathedral boys hockey team, is currently representing the United States in an elite hockey tournament in Canada. Cathedral activities director Emmett Keenan sent an update:

Cathedral’s Austin Poganski is playing with the USA National Team in the Under-17 World Challenge in Canada.  The US beat Slovakia 7-2 yesterday to finish 4-0 in pool play.  They play Russia in the semifinals today.  Austin has two goals in the tournament and another in a pre-tourney game.  He will return to the Crusaders next week for the Hermantown game next Friday.

The news there is that Poganski will miss Friday night’s game with eighth-ranked Warroad at the Municipal Athletic Complex. He will, however, be skating for the Crusaders when they play mighty Hermantown, which is ranked fifth in the state in Class A. Cathedral is ranked 10th.
