Nicole Brending, a Minneapolis-based screenwriter and director, will participate in a screening of a series of short films followed by discussion at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 in room 221 of the Performing Art Center. The event is presented by the St. Cloud State University Department of Theatre & Film Studies. Students from film classes will be present, but the event is open to the public.
Brending received her Masters of Fine Arts in Film from Columbia University and is a three-time recipient of the Jerome Foundation Media Artist Grant Program, most currently for her microbudget feature “Dollhouse,” to be shot this winter. She has several other awards and writing and production credits.
She’s had short films screen at more than 50 festival internationally. Her credits include “Duluth,” a short film about a stripper dealing with the recent death of her grandfather.
