SCSU soccer ranked 4th in NSIC poll

The St. Cloud State soccer team was ranked fourth in the NSIC preseason coaches poll that was released on Wednesday.

The Huskies went 11-8-2 last season with a 7-5-1 mark in the NSIC. SCSU took second in the NSIC tournament last fall. Minnesota State-Mankato was selected first with 11 first-place votes and 221 points.

Winona State was second with 212 points and five first-place votes and Minnesota-Duluth was third with 191 points.

St. Cloud State’s Mary Morhardt and Kenzie Hanzlik were selected as players to watch by the NSIC.

MSU-Mankato’s Brittany Henry was tabbed as the NSIC preseason offensive player of the year while teammate Lauren Somers was selected as the NSIC preseason defensive player of the year.
