USA Today caught up with Melrose graduate Amanda Smock after the preliminary competition in the women’s triple jump at the Olympics this morning in London.
Smock finished 27th overall, failing to secure a spot in the top 12 who move on to Sunday’s finals.
Her top jump was 44-feet-8.
But she remained upbeat afterward. You can check out the story here, as well as my story on local reaction to seeing her on the world’s biggest sports stage.
A reminder: St. Cloud Tech graduate Alise Post competes in women’s BMX racing beginning next Wednesday.
