St. Cloud State 37, St. John’s 22 (H)

Halftime at Sexton Arena where St. Cloud State closed the first half on a 17-4 run to take a 15-point halftime lead.

The Johnnies outrebounded the Huskies 25-16 in the first half, but turned the ball over 13 times. St. Cloud State had just four turnovers and hit 5 3-pointers.

After the Huskies opened leads of 8-0 and 10-4, the Johnnies came back to tie the score 13-13 on a layup by Kevin McKenzie and took a 15-13 lead on a basket by Chris Neumann with about seven-and-a-half minutes to go before halftime. A 3-pointer by Seth Marx tied the score at 18, but from there St. Cloud State pulled away.

Shaun Jensen and Theo Rothstein each had eight points to lead the Huskies. Joe Risinger had seven points and Marx had five for the Johnnies, who were just 8-for-26 (30.8 percent) from the field and 2-for-7 from 3-point range.

St. Cloud State was 12-for-31 (38.7 percent) from the field.
