Nick Martin rushed for a pair of touchdowns and threw for another as St. John’s improved to 6-1 overall with a 23-13 win over Carleton Saturday afternoon at Laird Stadium.
Martin was starting for senior Connor Bruns, who missed the game with an injured foot.
St. John’s jumped out to a 10-0 lead after the first quarter, but the Knights actually jumped on top 13-10 on touchdown catches of 19 and 16 yards respectively by Chase Gottschalk late in the second and early in the third quarter.
Jakob Certeza finsished with 28 carries for 116 yards to lead the Johnnies’ offense. St. John’s is now 31-0 all-time against the Knights, who fell to 3-3 overall.
