About the Johnnies: St. John’s has now won two straight after a five-game losing streak. That includes a 75-59 win over Hamline Wednesday. Junior Seth Marx led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds. He is averaging 18 points per game over the past two. Senior Chris Neumann had 17 points and 15 rebounds against the Pipers. Freshman Mitchell Kuck — whose older brother Nathan plays for St. Olaf — had 19 points.
About the Oles: St. Olaf fell 66-57 at home to St. Mary’s Wednesday. Junior Connor Gunderson had 14 points to lead the Oles. St. John’s and St. Olaf are now tied for seventh place in the MIAC standings, one game behind sixth-place Bethel (5-5, 9-6). The top six teams at the end of the season make the conference playoffs.
