Updated statistics for SCSU recruits, area players playing junior hockey

 

St. Cloud State recruit Daniel Tedesco plays for the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The statistics are through Monday and are for area players playing in Tier I and Tier II junior hockey. There are also stats for three area players playing for the Granite City Lumberjacks in the Tier III NA3HL. At the end of the junior statistics, there are statistics for St. Cloud State recruit Jimmy Schuldt’s statistics at Minnetonka High School, St. Cloud State recruit Jacob Benson’s statistics at Grand Forks Red River High School (N.D.) and St. Cloud State recruit Brendan Harris’ numbers playing for the 16AAA California Titans.

 

SCSU RECRUITS

St. Cloud State recruit Michael Buonincontri

Michael Buonincontri, Age 18, 6-1, 202, F, Montreal. Buonincontri is playing for the Smiths Falls Bears of the Central Canada Hockey League for the second straight season. He is likely out for the rest of the season after breaking the talus bone in his ankle.

St. Cloud State recruit Garrett Hendrickson

Garrett Hendrickson, 20, 6-1, 175, F, Virginia. Hendrickson is playing for the Coulee Region Chill of the North American Hockey League. He played last season in the British Columbia Hockey League.

SCSU recruit Charlie Lindgren

Charlie Lindgren, 19, 6-1, 181, G, Lakeville. Lindgren is playing in his second season with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League. 

Lindgren leads the USHL in wins (21), is 8th in GAA (2.86) and tied for 6th in games played (32). Lindgren played in the USHL’s Top Prospects Game on Jan. 23 in Muskegon, Mich. He stopped 13 of 15 shots in 30-plus minutes of the game.

SCSU recruit Niklas Nevalainen

Niklas Nevalainen, 19, 5-8, 170, Nakkila, Finland. Nevalainen is in his first season with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL. He played the better part of the last two seasons for the Assat U20 team in the Jr. A SM-liiga junior league in Finland.

He leads the USHL in plus/minus (plus-38). Among USHL defensemen, he is tied for 5th in assists (19), tied for 9th in points (22) and tied for 6th in power-play assists (9).

St. Cloud State recruit Patrick Newell

Patrick Newell, 17, 5-9, 150, F, Thousand Oaks, Calif. Newell was in his first season with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the NAHL before being traded to the Indiana Ice of the USHL on Feb. 6.

He played last season for the L.A. Junior Kings 16-and-under AAA team.

Judd Peterson, 19, 6-0, 184, F, Duluth. Peterson is in his first season playing for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL. He played last season for Duluth Marshall High School.

Ben Storm, 18, 6-6, 213, D, Laurium, Mich. Storm is in his first season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL. He played last season for Calumet High School (Mich.).

Storm played in the USHL’s Top Prospects Game on Jan. 23 in Muskegon, Mich., and had an assist.

St. Cloud State recruit Brendan Harris

Brendan Harris, 16, 5-7, 140, F, LasVegas. Harris is playing for the California Titans, who play in the North American Prospects Hockey League.

His NAHL rights are owned by the Bismarck Bobcats.

His overall statistics have not been updated in a while. In all games, he is listed as having played 41 games with 23 goals, 51 assists, 20 penalty minutes and is a plus-24. His statistics listed are in North American Prospects Hockey League.
