Updated statistics on SCSU recruits, area players playing junior hockey

 

The statistics are through Tuesday and are for area players playing in Tier I and Tier II junior hockey. There are also stats for three area players playing for the Granite City Lumberjacks in the Tier III NA3HL. At the end of the junior statistics, there are statistics for St. Cloud State recruit Jimmy Schuldt’s statistics at Minnetonka High School, St. Cloud State recruit Jacob Benson’s statistics at Grand Forks Red River High School (N.D.) and St. Cloud State recruit Brendan Harris’ numbers playing for the 16AAA California Titans and Mike Eyssimont’s numbers playing for the 16AAA Colorado Thunderbirds.

 

SCSU RECRUITS

Michael Buonincontri, Age 18, 6-1, 202, F, Montreal. Buonincontri is playing for the Smiths Falls Bears of the Central Canada Hockey League for the second straight season.

Since returning from a broken bone in his ankle, he has 3 goals and 6 assists in 6 games.

Lindgren leads the USHL in wins (25), is 7th in GAA (2.75) and tied for 3rd in games played (38) and tied for 11th in save percentage (.901). Lindgren played in the USHL’s Top Prospects Game on Jan. 23 in Muskegon, Mich. He stopped 13 of 15 shots in 30-plus minutes of the game.

Niklas Nevalainen, 19, 5-8, 170, Nakkila, Finland. Nevalainen is in his first season with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL. He played the better part of the last two seasons for the Assat U20 team in the Jr. A SM-liiga junior league in Finland.

He is 3rd in the USHL in plus/minus (plus-38). Among USHL defensemen, he is tied for 6th in assists (20), tied for 10th in points (23) and tied for 5th in power-play assists (10).

Schuldt tied for the team lead in playoff points with 4 assists. The Skippers lost 5-1 to Wayzata in the Section 6-2A semifinals.

His USHL rights are owned by the Omaha Lancers.

His overall statistics have not been updated in a while. In all games, he is listed as having played 41 games with 23 goals, 51 assists, 20 penalty minutes and is a plus-24. His statistics listed are in North American Prospects Hockey League. He had 7 assists in 4 NAPHL playoff games.
