Women’s hockey: SCSU 3, Lindenwood 2

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Forward Alex Nelson scored with 38 seconds left in the third period to give the St. Cloud State women’s hockey team a 3-2 nonconference win over Lindenwood on Saturday.

The win gives the Huskies (6-11-1) their third series sweep of the season. It was the third goal of the series and fifth of the season for Nelson, a senior from Andover.

The winning goal was scored 32 seconds after Alyssa West scored a power-play goal for Lindenwood to tie the game at 2. Both teams had two power-play goals in the game.

St. Cloud State sophomore Audrey Hanmer

Sophomore Audrey Hanmer had two assists and junior forward Molli Mott had a goal and an assist for St. Cloud State. Freshman goalie Katie Fitzgerald had 38 saves for the Huskies.
